Almost 40 years have passed since the start of operations in 1966 in the Northeast (Tohoku) Region of Japan as a loudspeaker manufacturing factory of Pioneer Corporation. From this modest beginning, Tohoku Pioneer has evolved to become a major player in the car electronics field, the most demanding of all audio fields. We have established a firm foothold in the market of car electronics products due to our attention to details from R&D to mass production of car stereos and speakers. While manufacturing is based in Japan, we have expanded our operations overseas to North America (Mexico) and Asia (Thailand and China).

Thanks to our wide range of technical capabilities accumulated over time, we have carved out our niche in such business fields as factory automation (FA) systems, audio visual (AV) accessories, precision components and molds. Further, we are now focusing our resources on the development and production of a state-of-the-art display device, organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays, to sow the seeds for a better future.

We believe that our duty is the ongoing pursuit of unrivaled technologies, qualities and values by going back to our fundamentals of Monozukuri - the manufacuring from initial concept to end product.

In order to achieve such goals, Tohoku Pioneer has met many global standards. We were certified for ISO 9001 (the international standard for quality management systems) in 1993 and QS-9000 (the quality system requirements developed by Ford, Chrysler and General Motors, known for its more stringent requirements than ISO 9001) in 1997. The QS-9000 certification was developed into the more advanced "ISO/TS 16949:2002 Spirit" in 2003. We were also certified for ISO 14001 (the international standard for environmental management systems) in 1999.
