| In February 2005, the DVD Forum announced the Dual Layer DVD-R format(DVD-R DL) specification *1 Dual Layer DVD-R(DVD-R DL) discs require compatible devices to record Dual Layer DVD-R(DVD-R DL) discs will also require compatible devices for playback of recorded data Pioneer DVD-ROM, DVD/CD writers sold prior to the ratification of this specification are not compatible with this format *2 *1 The DVD-R for DL Ver 3.0 specification was ratified by the DVD-Forum in February 2005 *2 The DVR-A09XL series is compatible to DVD-R DL with a firmware update |
