The Sound Lab Player tool is a small widget
that lets you enjoy the Sound Archive on your own desktop,
including all the popular sounds from the Sound Lab Web site.

Distribution of ‘Sound Lab Player’ has started.

Installation Method

1Click  the Install Sound Lab Player button at the top of the screen.

*Adobe AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime, referred to as"Adobe AIR" below) must be installed before this widget can be used.
Adobe AIR is automatically installed when the Install button is clicked, so click Yes.

*Be sure to read Terms of Use before using.
*Adobe AIR is a runtime environment provided by Adobe Systems Incorporated for running widgets and other desktop applications.

*Recommended environment:

■Under Windows
Operating system: Windows XP Service Pack 2 or newer, or Windows Vista
Memory: 512 MB or more
■Under Mac OS X
Operating system: Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger or newer
Memory: 512 MB or more

2Install the Sound Lab Player.

After a short wait, the application installation screen will appear. Click the Install button.

3Set up the installation.

The environmental setting screen appears for the installation.
To leave the settings as they are without making any modifications, click the Continue button.

4Agree to the terms.

Finally, the agreement screen appears for the Adobe AIR terms of use.
Click the I Agree button to start installation.
*This screen will not appear if Adobe AIR is already installed.

4Install the application.

The Sound Lab Player will appear after installation completes.
This completes the installation procedure.

*Uninstalling the Sound Lab Player

Under Windows
Delete the Sound Lab Player from Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
Under Mac OS X
Delete the Sound Lab Player from the Applications folder.

Using the Sound Lab Player

Screen Configuration

Once the installation is complete, running the program will cause the following screen to appear on the desktop
(this is the standard screen view).

Mouse Over

Bring the mouse cursor over the screen to display a control panel.

Setup Screen Description

Click the Setup button to display the setup screen.

Skin Modification Screen Description

Click the Modify Skin button to display the skin modification screen.

Skin List : Switches to the clicked skin.

Function Description

Listen to a Sound

When the Sound Lab Player is launched, a sound is played back automatically.
24 sounds are available for your enjoyment offline, or you can connect to the Internet to make up to a maximum of 130 sounds available online.
The number of sounds available for your enjoyment will differ depending on whether or not your computer is connected to the Internet.
・When not connected to the Internet: A total of 24 sounds in all genres
・When connected to the Internet: A total of 130 sounds in all genres

Pausing the Sound

Click the Pause button to pause sound playback, or the Play button to resume sound playback.

Looping Sounds

Immediately after installation, sounds from all genres are set to loop randomly.
To loop just the single sound currently playing, click the Loop Play button.

Genres

「The following four " sound genres " are available: Nature, Machinery, Human, and Ambient
To only play back your favorite genre, switch playback from the control panel.

Modifying the Skin

The standard skin is set immediately after installation.

Click the Modify Skin button to display the Skin List screen and switch to your favorite skin.

Automatic Version Upgrades

The Sound Lab Playe's version will be upgraded on an irregular basis when your computer is connected to the Internet.

Information Regarding a Known Issue

The " .air " file extension (file type) may be associated with another program other than Adobe AIR.

♦Example

When an installer created with Adobe AIR is run on a Macintosh on which CD mastering software has been installed, the CD mastering software will launch.

If this happens, then there is a possibility that this widget’s installation and automatic updates may not occur.

♦Solution
  1. Download the main Sound Lab Player.
  2. Select the downloaded file and click Get Info in the File menu.
  3. Select " Adobe AIR Application Installer " from the " Open with: " item in the displayed Info window.
  4. Click the Change All button.

This completes the file association procedure. Try installing now.

*Delete the downloaded "Sound Lab.air" file.
