PTK WINS LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD

On Tuesday 24th June 2003, PTK(Pioneer Technology UK LTD) attended the Wakefield District Environmental awards ceremony, and were presented with a " Highly Commended " award for the company's achievements in Environmental Management Systems.

The ceremony was the culmination of a lengthy evaluation exercise, carried out by an independent panel of judges selected from local environmental groups. This took a number of months, and ultimately recognised PTK's achievements with regards to the environment.

This was the first time these awards had been organised by the local district,and due to its success is planned to be extended to the whole West Yorkshire area for next year. The funding for the event was provided by money from the European Union, and the local district council.

Over 60 local companies took part in the evaluation process. This was the first award PTK have received, since obtaining ISO14001 accreditation back in May 2000.
