The Research & Development Group comprises Corporate Research & Development Laboratories, Development Center, the Standards & Copyright Management Center, the R&D Coordination Division, and three overseas research facilities.
The Corporate Research & Development Laboratories - rich sources of imagination and originality - are exploring elemental technologies that are vital for future product development as well as core technologies for information and communication services.
The Development Centers pursue ideals in their respective fields ,such as AV-related equipment, and car-related equipment. On the basis of fundamental research carried out at the Corporate Research & Development Laboratories, the Development Centers cooperate closely with the business operation groups to develop products that will lead the market. The Standards & Copyright Management Center provides support for the standardization of optical disc related technologies - an area in which Pioneer has the edge - and copyright protection. The R&D Coordination Division meanwhile helps accelerate R&D and promotes the commercialization of research results.
Overseas, Pioneer is involved in the development of technologies to digital broadcasting in China.
Furthermore, in order to effectively utilize our limited resources, Pioneer engages in various research projects jointly with universities and other companies and continuing its efforts to link result to broad and speedy development.
