EU Japan Fest Japan Committee
"EU Japan Fest Japan Committee" has been promoting cultural exchange between Japan and Europe since 1993, when the EU came into being, as a joint project with a European cultural capital, which is chosen each year. Pioneer gave its approval to the purpose of this project in 1993, when the project started, since the cultural capital of Europe that year was Antwerp, Belgium, where the head office of Pioneer Group in Europe is located, and Mr. Matsumoto, President of Pioneer at that time, was the head of the committee. Since 2000, the incumbent President, Mr. Ito, has become a member of the committee and served as the head of the committee in the year 2002. The sphere of activities has extended every year and the committee contributes to the promotion of mutual understanding of the two regions as a cultural bridge of Japan and Europe.
