Pioneer Forest

An agreement has been reached between Pioneer and Saitama-ken Norinkosha* regarding collaboration for the conservation of forests in the vicinity of the Kamakita Lake in Saitama Prefecture, designated as gPioneer Foresth. Eleven year old cypress trees that grow in the gPioneer Foresth are being entangled by vines that inhibit their growth and this requires manual management. Pioneer has conducted conservation activities that also qualify as environment awareness activities on six occasions so far, with participation by our employee volunteers. Employee and their family members take part in removing the vines, pruning and thinning the trees to transform the Pioneer Forest into a beautifully maintained forest. Pioneer intends to continue holding such events periodically in the future to maintain the "Pioneer Forest" through the participation of all employees.

The Oirase-river cleaning activity

Towada electronic corporation(Aomori) is developing activities to protect the natural view of the Oirase-river (in Towada national park)besides the beautification campaign in their communities. They will continue to work on them positively in the future as a part of environmental preservation activities.

Conservation of forests (Tsurugashima Satoyama)

Corporate Research & Development Laboratories of Pioneer Corporation are joining the NPO: "Tsurugashima Satoyama Support Club", which aims at the local forests conservation and better communications between citizens, as a main member. The members enter in the forests with citizens and city officers, and work by trimming trees, cutting the vine and undergrowth. They are planning to open an event to teach the importance of forests to children as well.
